Privacy Policy
The short version. The QR code generator runs entirely in your browser. Your CSV files, the URLs you enter, and the images produced are never sent to this site or anywhere else. The site does serve third-party advertising, which uses cookies — that part is described in full below.
Who we are
This Privacy Policy covers the website at batchqrcodes.com ("the Site"), operated by the owner of batchqrcodes.com. You can reach us at contact@batchqrcodes.com.
Data you put into the generator
We do not receive it. The QR code generator is written in JavaScript that executes on your own device. Specifically:
- CSV files you select are read locally by your browser. They are not uploaded. The file never leaves your computer.
- URLs, filenames and copy counts you type into the manual form stay in your browser's memory for the duration of your visit.
- QR code images are drawn on a canvas element in your browser, and the ZIP archive is assembled in your browser before being handed to your downloads folder.
- Nothing you enter is stored on a server, logged, retained, analysed, or shared, because there is no application server involved at any point. The Site is a set of static files.
Closing or reloading the page discards everything you entered. There is no account, no saved history, and nothing to delete.
Server logs
The Site is hosted on GitHub Pages. Like any web host, GitHub records standard technical information when a page is requested, which may include your IP address, browser type, and the page requested. This is handled by GitHub under GitHub's Privacy Statement. We do not have access to these logs in an identifiable form.
Cookies and advertising
The Site displays advertising supplied by Google AdSense. In connection with that:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this Site and/or other sites on the internet.
- You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
- Alternatively, you can opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalised advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info.
- Third-party ad networks other than Google may also serve ads on this Site. Where they do, they may set and read their own cookies. A current list of Google's certified advertising partners is available in Google's advertising vendor documentation.
Advertising cookies are set by the ad network, not by us, and they are entirely separate from the generator. The ad network has no visibility into your CSV contents or the URLs you encode, since that data never leaves your device.
Consent in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you will be shown a consent message before personalised advertising cookies are used, and you can accept or refuse them. Your choice is remembered and can be changed at any time through the same message. Refusing consent does not restrict your use of the generator in any way — the tool works identically either way.
Analytics
The Site may use Google Analytics to understand aggregate traffic patterns — which pages are visited, roughly where visitors come from, and which devices they use. This data is aggregated and is not used to identify individuals. You can prevent this collection using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data, and to object to processing or withdraw consent. Because we do not collect or store personal data ourselves, there is generally nothing on our side to access, correct or delete. For data held by Google in connection with advertising and analytics, use the Google links above, which give you direct control.
If you are in California, note that we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA/CPRA.
Children
The Site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
External links
Guides on this Site occasionally link to other websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites, and this policy does not apply to them.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the "last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Site after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
